CAL: Yocum, a two-time NGCA Academic All-American, was a member of Cal's starting five for all four fall competitions in the fall of 2007 as a JUNIOR ...won the Ram Fall Classic by two shots over her teammate, Pia Halbig, for her first collegiate victory...shot career bests for 18 (-2, 70), 36 (=, 144) and 54 holes (-2, 214) at the Ram Fall Classic...has seen her scoring average improve from 79.0 as a freshman to 75.7 as a junior...as a SOPHOMORE in 2006-07, received second-team Pac-10 All-Academic and three team awards - Most Improved, Founders Award and Leta Nelson Award...capped the fall with her best showing, tying for 26th at the Stanford Intercollegiate with her best 36 hole (+7, 149) and 54-hole (+7, 220) performances...shot a 71 for her season-best round at Stanford, which also equaled her best round in relation to par (even)...tied for 30th at the Ram Fall Classic to start the year...saw action in three of Cal's four events in the fall of 2005 as a FRESHMAN and competed on Cal's travel squad for the final seven tournaments of the season...tied for 24th at the Cal Guadalajara Invitational for her top result of the season...in Mexico, shot a then-career best for 18 holes (=, 72) and then-career bests for 36 (+9, 153) and 54 holes (+9, 225)...carded a +9, 155 at the Dick McGuire Invitational to tie for 53rd for her best fall result...selected for the Leta Nelson award which is given to an individual who best personifies the spirit of the university.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2002 and 2003 team MVP at Peninsula High School...garnered the Captains Award (2004), Most Improved (2001) and Athlete of the Year (2005) honors at her school...helped her team to the 2002 and 2003 CIF titles, four CIF Southern Section championships and to three Bay League crowns...best 18-hole score was 68 and best nine-hole score was 29...won two American Junior Golf Association tournaments (Glenwild, Utah and Kansas City, Kan.)...received several academic honors - Principal's High Honor Roll, Governor's Scholarship recipient and Golden State Exam Excellence.
PERSONAL: Born May 4, 1987, in Long Beach, Calif....parents are Stan and Melayne Yocum...has a younger sister, Stephanie, who began competing for the Cal Poly golf team in the fall of 2006...enjoys skiing, golf, reading, going to movies and hanging out with friends...speaks fluent Spanish ...economics major.
