Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision To Cincinnati

The California men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Cincinnati in the opening day of the Stanford/Nike Invitational Tournament. With the loss, the Bears drop to 2-6-0, while the Bearcats improve to 3-5-0.
Cincinnati scored their lone goal of the game in the 41st minute. Brandon Dobb's shot from 12 yards out was deflected off Cal keeper Marco Palmieri's hands right to Brad Woods. Woods drilled a five yard shot to the lower left hand corner of the net for the Cincinnati goal.
Cal outshot the Bearcats 12-9 in the match, but could not manage to find the back of the net. Chris Roner led the Bears with five shots on the night.
Palmieri notched three saves.
The Bears return to action on Sunday, October 2, when they battle the Seton Hall Pirates at 11:30 a.m. at Maloney Field on the Stanford Campus.
