No. 17 California Falls to No. 1 Stanford, 5-2

The No. 17 California women's tennis team fell to No. 1 Stanford, 5-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Taube Tennis Center. The Golden Bears' record now stands at 11-4 overall, 1-2 Pac-10, while the Cardinal improve to a perfect 15-0.
Cal dropped the doubles point, but did pick up a win on court one. The Freshman duo of Suzi Babos and Stephanie Kusano defeated Alice Barnes and Erin Burdette, 8-3.
In singles, No. 4 Babos continued her impressive spring run, beating Amber Liu in straight sets, 7-5; 6-0. Cal's other win came on court six, where freshman Cristina Visico outlasted Lejla Hodzic in three sets, 6-4; 3-6; 1-0.
Cal hosts a pair of Pac-10 opponents in Arizona and Arizona State, April 1 and 2, respectively. Head coach Jan Brogan, who currently has 498 career wins, will be going for No. 500 at the Hellman Tennis Center.
