BERKELEY – Tyson Jolly, a 6-4 guard out of Oklahoma City who is considered one of the top shooting guards in the country, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of California, Berkeley.

Jolly starred at Putnam City West High School, where he averaged 20.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as a senior in 2014-15. Jolly, who was named The Oklahoman's Big All-City Player of the Year last season, is enrolled this year as a post-grad student at the Elev8 Sports Institute in Delray Beach, Florida.

“I'm happy to have Tyson on board with our program after a year at prep school,” head coach Cuonzo Martin said. “He is a passionate player who is excited to be a part of what we are trying to do. He is tough, athletic and possesses a great desire to excel on the court. Tyson is a player who is willing to do whatever it takes to win, whether it is blocking a shot, getting a big rebound, scoring a big basket or making a big free throw.”

Jolly guided Putnam City West to a 24-3 overall record and a berth in the Class 6A state semifinals in the spring of 2015. He scored a career-high 41 points to lead the second-ranked Patriots to a road victory over No. 6 Midwest City in a matchup of two of the top teams in the state during his senior season.

Jolly was a consensus top-five prospect in the state of Oklahoma, ranking second by 247Sports.cm and third by ESPN's recruiting service. He was rated a three-star prospect by both Scout.com and Rivals.com. The guard was an all-state selection by the Oklahoma Coaches Association and played in the Oklahoma Scholastic All-Star Game last July. Jolly was also named to the Oklahoma Faith 7 Basketball Bowl, matching Oklahoma's top scholastic stars against Texas' top scholastic stars. In addition, Jolly earned Big All-City recognition from The Oklahoman during both his sophomore and junior seasons. The guard averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 2.2 assists as a junior.
