MINNEAPOLIS – The Cal women's swim team had three finishers in the top-10 in the 100 backstroke Friday on the second day of the Minnesota Arena Pro Swim Series at the University Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota.
Senior Rachel Bootsma placed fourth in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.02, freshman Amy Bilquist was seventh at 1:01.39 and fellow freshman Kathleen Baker finished eighth by clocking 1:01.47.
The Bears had two swimmers place in the top-10 in the 200 butterfly. Freshman Katie McLaughlin was fifth at 2:12.08 while sophomore Noemie Thomas finished sixth at 2:12.38.
Junior Marina Garcia was fourth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:27.26 while fellow junior Farida Osman was also fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.09.
Cal closes out competition in the event Saturday with the 200 individual medley, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle and 800 freestyle.
