“The Cal lacrosse coaching staff couldn't be more excited to welcome this group of 10 to the Golden Bear family,” Eubanks said. “They are a great group, and their commitment to academic and athletic excellence will surely have a positive impact on our program. We are excited to have them on campus next fall, building upon our current successes on the field, in the classroom and in the community.”
Five of the recruits will come to Cal from the East Coast – Sabrina Kaplan (Coral Springs, FL), Kai Mildenberger (Stuart, FL), Jaclyn McCall (Summit, NJ), Susie Ropp (Darien, CT) and Makayla Ward (Sudbury, MA).
Kaplan currently attends Saint Andrew's School where she was first-team all-district, first-team all-county, and second-team all-region as a junior. She also played on the South Florida National Team in the National Tournament in Pennsylvania.
Mildenberger also competed on the South Florida National Team, as well as being named to the Under Armour All-America Team in 2015. As keeper for her Oak Knoll High School team, McCall's squad was sectional champions the last three seasons and state champions in 2015, with a No. 7 national ranking according to USA Today.
Ropp and her Darien High School squad will go for their fourth straight season of winning the FCIAC and state championships in her senior year.
