BERKELEY – After an undefeated and collectively notable week for the Golden Bears in Honolulu, senior Lindsay Rood's offensive efforts stood out and were rewarded with a Pac-12 Player of the Week nod, The Conference announced Tuesday.

The shortstop leadoff went 11-for-17 (.647) and contributed nine runs as California posted five consecutive wins, all finishing in the fifth inning under the mercy rule. The Bears have now won seven consecutive run-rule games, believed to be the longest streak in program history.

Rood, key in the historical run, added eight RBI through the four-day stretch and recorded six doubles, one triple and one homer run. Additionally, the legal studies major went 3-for-3 in stolen bases.

The Danville, Calif., resident, has been an offensive threat throughout the preseason and her numbers have topped the league in several categories. Rood leads in hitting percentage (.488), hits (40), triples (4) and stolen bases (16). Rood is the reigning stolen bases leader from 2018, and went nearly perfect during the previous season getting caught just once in 32 attempts.

She also hovers around the top in multiple categories, ranking second in on base percentage (.522), total bases (67) and is tied at second for doubles (10). The senior's 30 runs ranks third in the Pac-12.

Rood's honor is the first for Cal this season and comes a day before the Bears conclude their preseason slate on Wednesday with a doubleheader against Fairleigh Dickinson, a late add to the schedule and the team's home opener.

Cal begins Pac-12 play on Friday at Utah at 3 p.m. (PT).
