Cal brings a 9-3 record (3-0 in the Pac-12) and a four-match winning streak into Friday's match against the Trojans (12-2, 3-0 Pac-12) at Marks Stadium. The Bruins – who will host the Bears at the Los Angeles Tennis Center – are 10-3 (3-0 Pac-12).

Cal played the L.A. schools earlier this year in nonconference matches in Berkeley, with the Bears falling to UCLA, 4-3, on Feb. 23 and with Cal beating the Trojans, 5-2, on Feb. 24.

Cal edged Hawai'i, 4-3, in a nonconference match on March 23 at the Hellman Tennis Complex, as senior co-captain Maria Smith clinched with a 6-2, 6-7(2), 7-6(5) win over Roxanne Resma. The 23rd-ranked duo of Anna Bright and Jasie Dunk clinched the doubles point for the Bears with a 7-5 victory over Resma and Michelle Pits.
Poll Position
Cal was ranked 15th in last week's Tennis Channel/USTA Top 25 and ranked 19th in last week's Oracle ITA poll. The new Oracle ITA team rankings will come out on Tuesday, with the other poll slated for release on Wednesday.
Three Bears were ranked in last week's Oracle ITA singles poll in No. 21 Olivia Hauger (19-6 record), No. 30 Julia Rosenqvist (21-10) and No. 74 Anna Bright (20-8). The pair of sophomores Rosenqvist and Hana Mraz (7-2) was ranked 13th, the team of Bright and sophomore Jasie Dunk (13-6) was ranked 23rd and the duo of Mraz and Stloukalova (7-1) was ranked 60th in doubles. New Oracle ITA individual rankings are scheduled to be released on April 2.
Scouting the Trojans
- USC won at Oregon, 5-2, on March 23 to run its winning streak to eight matches
- Three Trojans are ranked in singles in No. 49 Salma Ewing, Angela Kulikov (tied for 75th) and No. 124 Danielle Wilson
- The duo of Kulikov and Rianna Valdes is ranked 20th in doubles

- UCLA hosts UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday and Stanford on Friday

Cal sophomore Julia Rosenqvist earned her second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor on March 19, when the Conference lauded her for going 4-0 as the Bears defeated Arizona, 7-0, and Arizona State, 5-2. Rosenqvist collected her first Pac-12 honor of the season on Feb. 19.
