Collin Morikawa (69-68 – 137, -3) is in second place on the individual leaderboard after 36 holes and is two shots behind USC's Kaito Onishi (69-66 – 135. -5). The two will tee off in the final group of the day at 2:34 pm along with Stanford's David Snyder (67-71 – 138, -2), who is one of six players tied for third one shot behind Morikawa and three off Onishi's pace.
Morikawa got to five-under for the tournament and four-under for the round before making bogey on two of his final three holes. Morikawa, who started on the 10th tee, four-putted the par-five seventh after getting to the green in two and then was unable to convert and up-and-down on the par-four ninth. He did have a trio of long birdie putts on the par-four 15th (30 feet), first (18 feet) and fifth (25 feet) holes. He also had birdies on the par-four 13th and par-five 16th holes while his other bogey was on the par-four 18th.
KK Limbhasut (71-71 – 142, +2) shot a 71 for the fifth straight round dating back to all three of his rounds at the Southern Highlands Collegiate and moved up two spots into a tie for 23rd. Kaiwen Liu (75-70 – 145, +5) jumped up 36 spots into a tie for 40th, while James Song (71-75 – 146, +6) dropped 22 places into a tie for 47th and Ben Doyle (77-71 – 148, +8) moved up 28 into a tie for 70th.

Crampton, who finished third at The Goodwin in 2018, wrapped up playing a four-round Mackenzie Tour qualifying school event as an amateur on Friday at Carlton Oaks Country Club with a tied for seventh-place finish that guarantees him six 2019 starts on the Mackenzie Tour after he turns professional. Crampton had suited up for each of Cal's last 42 events (excluding his 2016-17 redshirt season).

- "My putting saved me throughout the day until the final three holes. My tee shots weren't as good as yesterday but I still kept the ball in play and gave myself more chances for birdies. The bump in today's round was my 16th hole (hole 7). I hit a great second shot to have an eagle putt and ended up with a bogey. Four-putting is never enjoyable, but I have to keep my head high because I've been rolling my putts well. Tomorrow is another day and I just have to keep playing my game and convert some birdies."
