Cal has a 38-6-1 record in the all-time series with Utah. That includes a 4-0 Cal win over the Utes last season in Berkeley.
Poll Position
Cal earned a No. 46 ranking in Tuesday's Oracle ITA team poll. In Tuesday's doubles rankings, the duo of sophomore Jacob Brumm and freshman Yuta Kikuchi (13-10 record) is ranked No. 17th.

Cal suffered a pair of 4-2 setbacks against USC and UCLA last week in Berkeley. First, on March 29 at the Hellman Tennis Complex, Cal lost the doubles point and the first singles match to trail the Trojans, 2-0. Cal rallied, as sophomores Paul Barretto and Ben Draper won in singles to tie things at 2-2. But USC ultimately prevailed when Mor Bulis defeated Cal junior Mert Zincirli, 6-1, 3-6, 6-0, on court six.
The Bears also dropped the doubles point against the Bruins on March 30. They later trailed UCLA 3-1, before Cal junior Bjorn Hoffmann beat Patrick Zahraj, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5, on court four to bring the Bears to within one of the Bruins. But UCLA clinched the win when the 92nd-ranked Maxime Cressy defeated Cal freshman Yuta Kikuchi, 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-1, on court one.
Next Time
Cal hosts UC Santa Barbara in a nonconference match on April 8 before battling Stanford in part two of the Big Slam on April 13 in a Pac-12 match at the Hellman Tennis Complex. During the latter match, Cal will celebrate McManus Legends day in honor of late alumnus Jim McManus.
