BERKELEY – California begins its post-season journey with a trip to Norman, Okla., for the MPSF Championships where they will be pitted against reigning national champion and currently top-ranked Oklahoma, No. 2 Stanford and No. 13 Air Force.

The stout field will provide a last opportunity to for the No. 11 Golden Bears to fine-tune efforts and secure their automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The top-12 teams in the country advance to the national meet.

Fortunately, Cal has seen most of its competition during the regular season and head into competition prepared. The Bears haven't faced the Falcons, but their focus remains internal.

"Entering MPSF Conference Championships the team will compete for a team and individual titles. Also our conference team score is imperative for qualifying to the NCAA championships in two weeks," said head coach JT Okada. "The team's mindset going in to this meet needs to be the same as any other meet in the sense that we focus on our process and controlling our preparations. What is different in our mindsets are that there is no holding back as we enter the post season."

Cal will look to its entire squad to contribute and will benefit with the return of Anton Vorona after a brief injury.

Key contributors throughout the year have been freshman Darren Wong and senior Aaron Mah.

Wong has earned three meet titles in the all-around including against the Sooners and Cardinal. He has also been named as CGA Rookie of the Week twice and MPSF Gymnast of the meet during the regular season. The Vancouver native also has posted a career best in nearly every meet this season.

Wong heads into competition ranked third nationally in the all-around with an average score of 80.457.

Mah, also a Vancouver native, ranks 13th in the high bar (13.833) and has brought in meet titles on several events throughout the season.

Competition is scheduled for a 2 p.m. (PT) start at OU's McCasland Fieldhouse on April 6. Action will be broadcast on Fox College Sports platforms. Fans can follow along on by downloading the Fox Sports GO App.
