NAPA, Calif. – Cal women's golf faced some tough conditions on day two of the Silverado Showdown. The Bears fell to 15th on the leaderboard after 36 holes, but will look to rebound in the final round at Silverado Resort & Spa.

Cal opened the day in a tie for 11th place after bouncing back in the back nine of the first round yesterday, however they were not able to carry that momentum forward as they shot 307 in the second round and fell into a tie for 13th place with 18 holes remaining on Tuesday morning.

"It is a tough course, the fairways are narrow," head coach Nancy McDaniel said. "We want to do a better job of getting in the fairway and finding the angles to the holes. When we didn't hit it where we wanted, we didn't do a good job of making adjustments. Tomorrow will be great preparation for what we will see at the Pac-12 Championship. This is a good field and we have to take it one shot at a time. One round at a time. I'm excited that we have one more round, so we can finish strong."

Katherine Zhu led the way for the Bears most of the day. The freshman played bogey-free for the first 12 holes. Zhu was one-under at that point, but she closed with four straight bogeys and finished 3-over 75 for the second straight day. She will head to the final day in a tie for 26th place.

Maria Herraez Galvez shot 76 for the second straight day, despite not recording a birdie. Herraez Galvez was 2-over on both the front nine and the back nine and is tied for 37th place.

Amina Wolf shot 78 in the second round and now sits in a tie for 49th place. Wolf recorded birdies on back-to-back holes on the third and fourth holes after starting on 10.

Cindy Oh also recorded two birdies, but saw multiple opportunities lip out including two on 18, which saw her bogey the hole. Zhu finished the day with a 8-over 80 and is tied for 66th place with 18 holes left. Marianne Li bettered her first-day score as she shot 6-over 78 in the second round.

Cal will conclude the Silverado Showdown on Tuesday with 18 holes. The Bears tee off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start and will be paired with Colorado State and New Mexico.
