BERKELEY – Head coach Brooke Eubanks announced Friday that Lily Rathbun (Falls Church, VA/The Madeira School) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Golden Bears' 2020 recruiting class. Rathbun is the eighth student-athlete to in the class, joining Hanna Deringer, Boo DeWitt, Kennedy Goss, Ella Greene, Simone Holland, Kate Rothman and Sara Russell.

"We are excited to add Lily to this talented 2020 recruiting class," Eubanks said. "Lily is a dynamic goalie and will round out the class in the backfield. She brings top high school experience with fast hands and patience, which will suit her well in the college game."

"I'm super excited about committing to Cal," Rathbun said. "It really is a dream come true and I can't wait to be there this fall. The lacrosse program is filled with amazing people and great lacrosse, and I can't wait to be part of the team and become a Golden Bear!"

• Started all 34 games possible during her final two-plus prep seasons and earned back-to-back All-Independent Schools League A bracket honors as both a 2018 sophomore and 2019 junior before all but the first two games of her 2020 senior season were cancelled due to COVID-19
• Finished with career totals of 322 saves and 150 ground balls in two-plus seasons and started all 34 games possible with her teams posting a combined 21-13 record
• Ranked second in the DMV area (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) in ground balls (95) and fifth in saves (160) as a junior after being sixth in saves (162) during her sophomore campaign
• Started all 18 games as a junior for a team that finished with a 14-4 overall record
• Started all 14 games and added 162 saves as a sophomore for a team that finished 7-7 overall
• Had 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in the final game of her high school career as a senior
• Wore No. 46 in lacrosse
• Participated in four seasons of field hockey and swimming, earning All-ISL honors in field hockey as a 2019 senior
• Also played one season of basketball as a 2019-20 senior
• Worked for Special Olympics as a sophomore and on Capitol Hill for United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson of Texas during her junior year
• Played four seasons of club lacrosse from 2016-19 with VA Metro
