Crampton Finishes Tied For Seventh At Mackenzie Tour Q-School Event
Current Senior Guaranteed Starts In Mackenize Tour’s First Six 2019 Events
SANTEE, Calif. – Sebastian Crampton missed a Cal event for the first time since he was a 2014-15 true freshman other than his 2016-17 redshirt season at The Goodwin currently being contested to play as an amateur in the MacKenize Tour's Qualifying School West 1 at Carlton Oaks Country Club. Crampton wrapped up the 72-hole event Friday in a tie for seventh to guarantee himself starts in the first six MacKenzie Tour events of the 2019 season.
Crampton (66-69-74-75 – 284, -4) was in the lead after two rounds with a full exemption the reward for the winner but eventually dropped into a seventh-place tie.
"Making it through Q-school was a tough task and a mental grind overall," Crampton said. "I'm glad to have played well enough to secure a place to play professionally this summer and I am certainly looking forward to the opportunity ahead of me."
Before he turns professional, the Cal senior will look to get back into the Golden Bears lineup for the Golden Bears' final regular-season event May 15-17 at the Western Intercollegiate before the post-season begins April 22-24 at the Pac-12 Championships.
