BERKELEY – Jared Goff had another tremendous showing in leading the Los Angeles Rams to a 33-7 home victory over the Houston Texans to highlight performances by former Cal players in Week 10 action of the National Football League schedule. Goff completed 25-of-37 passes for a career-high 355 yards with three touchdowns including a career-long 94-yard touchdown to Robert Woods for the longest completion of his career and the second-longest play from scrimmage in the NFL in 2017.
Goff was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his previous outing in a Week 9 victory over the New York Giants when he threw a career-high four touchdown passes.
Goff has led the Rams to a 7-2 record and a one-game lead over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West by completing 172-of-281 passes for 2385 yards with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions for a 101.5 quarterback rating that ranks seventh in the NFL. He is also tied for seventh in the NFL in passing touchdowns and eighth in passing yards.
Goff is one of five former Cal players on teams that have at least a share of a Division title with the others Tyson Alualu (Pittsburgh Steelers, AFC North), Cameron Jordan (New Orleans Saints, NFC South), Mychal Kendricks (Philadelphia Eagles, NFC East) and Mitchell Schwartz (Kansas City Chiefs, AFC West).
Cal began the season ranked second in the Pac-12 and tied for 13th nationally with 32 former Golden Bears representing Cal as players on the NFL teams when the league's 2017 season opened.
