SAN DIEGO – Former California Golden Bears forward and 2015 FIFA World Cup winner for the United States, Alex Morgan made her 100th career appearance for the United States on Saturday in a 5-0 win over Ireland in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium. Morgan tallied her 57th career goal just before the stroke of halftime to extend the U.S. lead to 4-0 at the time. She also set up the match-opener for the Red, White and Blue, as her low cross from just inside the area picked out FIFA Women's Player of the Year Carli Lloyd for an easy tap-in in the sixth minute. Additionally, Morgan's header at the back post created the rebound that led to Lloyd's second of three goals of the match in the 22nd minute of play.

In Morgan's 100 international appearances, the Diamond Bar, California, native has now scored 57 goals and has been a key component of the U.S. sides who have won the FIFA World Cup (2015 in Canada) and Olympic gold medal (2012 in London).

While at Cal, Morgan appeared in 67 matches with 61 starts. Despite missing numerous games due to her time with the national team, Morgan finished her Golden Bear career with 45 goals and 107 points, marks that are tied for third all-time in Cal history. In addition to her goal-scoring prowess, she also notched 17 assists. Her five collegiate hat tricks are the most of any Cal player, and along with All-Pac-10 honors in 2010 and 2009, Morgan was an NSCAA All-American in 2010 and finalist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy despite only playing 12 matches during her senior season.
