INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – J.T. Nishimura won at court-six singles to clinch California's third-place victory over Oklahoma, 4-1, on Sunday in the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tennis Challenge presented by Oracle. The Golden Bear junior defeated OU's Arnaud Restifo, 0-6, 6-3, 6-4, to end the last match at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
 
In doubles, the teams split matches on court one (won by the top-ranked Filip Bergevi and Florian Lakat) and on court three (with the Sooners winning), which left court two to decide the point. Cal senior Andre Goransson and junior Billy Griffith, ranked 54th, beat Florin Bragusi and Jochen Bertsch, 7-5, to clinch.
 
Cal later got singles wins from the 53rd-ranked Billy Griffith on court four and the 14th-ranked Lakat on court one to give the Golden Bears a 3-0 lead. The 30th-ranked Goransson lost to Alex Ghilea on court two to temporarily stem the tide, until Nishimura ended the tournament and sent the Bears home with a win.
 
Baylor, which beat Cal in Saturday's semifinals, defeated USC in Sunday's final, 4-3.
 
Cal next plays host to Yale on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
