The Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) reports to the Chancellor. The FAR serves as an advocate for student-athletes and is also responsible for monitoring campus compliance with NCAA regulations and student-athlete eligibility to compete in university sanctioned practices and competitions.
The FAR serves on the Academic Senate’s
Faculty Athletics Council and the
University Athletics Board. In addition, the FAR participates in meetings with FARs from the other
Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) members.
