Freshman Briana Thai has been named the Pac-12 Diver of the Week after winning three of four events during Cal's sweep of USC and UCLA last weekend in Los Angeles.
 
In the Bears' 169-131 victory at USC – Cal's first road win in the series since 2012 – she captured the 3-meter springboard with a score of 303.53 and the 1-meter board with 289.73 points to lead a 1-2 Cal finish in both events.
 
A day later, Thai scored 288.08 on 1-meter to earn the win at UCLA. She was also fourth on the 3-meter board as Cal took the meet, 183-111.
 
Thai is the second Golden Bear honored by the conference this year, as sophomore Abbey Weitzeil was voted the Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month for December.
 
Cal has one remaining dual meet this season – at Stanford on Feb. 10 – before heading to the Pac-12 Championships in late February and the NCAA meet in March.
