BERKELEY – No. 14 California propelled itself into the postseason on a high note after the Golden Bears pulled in a decisive meet win to close the regular season slate at Haas Pavilion on Saturday.

The Bears who finished with a season best team score 399.100 led from the first rotation on floor to cap off their undefeated series against visiting No. 14 Arizona State (379.300) and No. 17 Washington (364.600).

In their previous matchups this season, Cal recorded a then season-best team score of 395.150 to hold off ASU's 385.000 and Washington's 369.800 at the Pac-12 Invitational in Stanford. The Bears also had a 395.050-368.300 win over the Huskies at the Stanford Open.

It was a unforgettable moment for the Bears squad as it celebrated four departing members during Senior Night which recognized Yordan Aleksandrov, Michael Rauchwerger, Bailey Chang and Nathaniel Ramil.

Saturday was highlighted by Aaron Mah's third meet title of the season as well, with the junior taking the all-around with a score of 81.700, his top performance all season. Senior Aleksandrov finished as a runner-up through the six events with a 2018 best of 81.400.

"Tonight was special in a number of ways," said head coach JT Okada. "We celebrated some traditions and history with the 1968 and 1998 championships, but also recognized our seniors. This team came together and delivered a team high score. To turn in this type of performance, this late in the season, is really special.

"I'm happy for the seniors to finish in Berkeley with such a great performance," Okada continued. "It was a phenomenal night and we'll use this going forward into conference."

Cal's top collective performance came during its opening event on floor with a team score of 69.250 and it was lights out from that point forward.

Mah dominated from the jump with a season best 14.500 on the floor to open the tri-meet and was not the only Bear to find comfort at home. Trio Jonathan Wang, Mitchell Awisus and Aleksandrov each recorded season highs on parallel bars with scores of 13.450, 13.800 and 14.400, respectively. Chang anchored the event with a 13.000 in his best effort this year, but his score did not count toward Cal's team total.

Notably, Aleksandrov closed his time at Haas with a top score (14.300) in the high bar to anchor the Bears overall performance.

Cal will head to Colorado Springs for the MPSF Conference Championship on April 7 to face Oklahoma, Stanford and Air Force.
