Cal Success:

• Closed his Cal career in 2017-18 as an important team leader and contributor in the breaststroke.
• Along with fellow upperclassman Zach Stevens, helped lead the Bears' efforts in the classroom throughout the 2017-18 season. That work resulted in Cal earning Scholar All-America team honors in both semesters and landed Silverthorn Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
• Recorded Cal's fourth-fastest time of the season in the 200 breast (1:54.57) and fifth-fastest time in the 100 breast (53.60). Both times were NCAA "B" cuts.
• Contributed in a variety of events as a junior in 2016-17 and ranked in the team's top 10 in the 100 and 200 breast, 200 IM and 200 free.
• Set NCAA "B" standard times with all three of his swims at the Pac-12 Championships as he went 53.36 in the 100 breast, 1:55.10 in the 200 breast and 1:47.86 in the 200 IM.
• Was also a standout in the classroom in 2017, earning Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention for the first time in his career.
• As a sophomore, competed in the 100 and 200 as well as the 200 IM at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships.
• Raced to Cal's sixth-best time in the 100 breast with a 54.22 at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships. Also had the team's sixth-best time in the 200 breast with a 1:57.12 at the Georgia Invitational.
• Had Cal's fifth-fastest time in the 100-yard breaststroke as a freshman in 2014-15, stopping the clock in 54.56 at the Pac-12 Championships.
• Competed in the 200 IM, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay at the 2015 Pac-12 Championships.

High School/Club/National Success:

• Attended Granada High School in Livermore, Calif. where he raced under the existing high school national record in the 100 breaststroke at the 2013 CIF-North Coast Section meet. His time of 53.61 in the event ranks as third-fastest among high school swimmers.
• Also competed for the Pleasanton Seahawks where he set three national age group records.
