Cal Success:

• Closed out his Cal career as a senior in 2017-18 by qualifying for his second NCAA Championships.
• Breaststroke specialist recorded Cal's third-fastest times in both the 100 (52.87) and 200 (1:54.03) in 2017-18. Both were NCAA "B" cuts.
• Qualified for his first NCAA Championships in 2017 with a tremendous showing in a 200 breast time trial at the Pac-12 Championships.
• Time of 1:53.82 at the 2017 Pac-12 Championships ranked second on the team behind only NCAA scorer Hunter Cobleigh.
• Placed 20th in the 200 breast at the 2017 NCAA Championships.
• Also ranked fourth on the team in the 400 breast and sixth in the 200 IM during the 2016-17 season.
• Showed his versatility as a sophomore in 2015-16, competing in the breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and IM at various points of the season.
• Competed in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships and set season-best times in all three eventsa at the meet.
• Competed in several events as a freshman in 2014-15, focusing primarily on the breaststroke. Also competed in the IM, butterfly and freestyle.
• Finished second in the 200 breaststroke at Cal's 2015 dual meet against Stanford with a time of 1:58.14.
• Placed third in the 100 breaststroke at Cal's fall dual against Hawai'i in 2014.

High School/Club/National Success:

• Attended Davis Senior High School in Davis, Calif.
• Versatile swimmer compiled pre-Cal bests of 55.29 seconds in the 100 breaststroke and 1:57.75 in the 200 breast. Also swam the 200 IM and 100 butterfly with bests of 1:47.64 and 48.26, respectively.
• Also competed for the Davis Aquadarts.

Personal:

• Parents are Daron and Jennifer Whittle  .
• Father, Daron, graduated from Cal in 1988 in legal studies.
• Longtime Cal fan traveled to Minneapolis to watch the Bears win a national title in 2011.
• Majored in Environmental Economics and Policy.
• Born February 1, 1996, in Woodland, Calif.
