Babos Advances to Final of Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES - California junior Susie Babos advanced to the final of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships with a victory over South Florida's Shadisha Robinson in the semifinals Saturday at the Riviera Tennis Club.
Robinson claimed the first set, 6-2, but Babos won the match by winning the final sets, 6-3, 6-3. Babos, the 2006 NCAA singles champion, faces Fresno State's Melanie Gloria in tomorrow's final. Gloria earned her spot in the championship round by upsetting top-seeded Audra Cohen from Miami, 6-3, 6-2.
Babos has only lost one set during the tournament, while Gloria has yet to drop a set.
