Cal-Washington State Postgame Notes

  • Tyrone Wallace returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Cal's game at Stanford Jan. 14. He missed five games with a broken bone in his right hand and then came off the bench Cal's last three contests.
  • Wallace scored all 17 of his points in the second half, shooting 6-for-9 from the floor and making all three of his 3-pointers. As a result, he increased his career total to 1,536 points and needs one more point to tie former teammate Allen Crabbe (2011-13, 1,537) for 10th on Cal's all-time list.
  • Jordan Mathews sank a pair of 3-pointers to give him 70 on the year, which ties his total for all of last year for fourth on Cal's season list.
  • Mathews finished with eight points to give him 1,099 for his career. He remained 35th in school history for scoring.
  • As a team, Cal has won five games in a row. The Bears have had at least a five-game winning streak in Pac-12 play in each of the past five years.
  • Wallace appeared in his 123rd career game today, tying him with Sean Lampley (1998-01) and Bryant Walton (1987-90) for 10th on Cal's all-time list.
  • Jabari Bird shot 3-for-3 from 3-point range and is now 15-for-25 (60.0%) behind the arc over his past five games.
  • Cal's 18-point victory margin was its largest on a Pac-12 opponent's home court since a 78-60 win at Oregon on Feb. 19, 2009.
  • Cal posted its largest rebounding margin of the year at +21, posting a 42-21 advantage on the glass.
