Cal Well Represented On Conference List
BERKELEY – After a runner-up finish in conference play, No.21 California earned a stellar seven individual All-Pac-12 honors the Conference announced, Tuesday, a day after Cal earned its first playoff bid since 2014.

Golden Bears' goalkeeper
Drake Callender, who led the league with 71 saves, and senior midfielder
Jose Carrera-Garcia, whose nine assists topped the conference, picked up first team recognition. The honor is the first for Callender and marks the third occasion for Carrera-Garcia to be named to the all-conference list. Each were also named as Pac-12 Player of the Week during the season.

Pacing the team with a career-high seven goals, junior midfielder
Shinya Kadono picked up his first all-league honor being named to the second team. Kadono had an epic year on the pitch that found him at the helm of Cal's offensive arsenal netting three game winners and tied for fourth in the conference for goals scored.

Rounding out the list was foursome
Paul Salcedo-Borrego,
Joshua Morton,
Ugo Rebecchini, all seniors, and junior
Sam Ebstein who earned honorable mention nods. Also as starters, the group combined for five goals and nine assists this season. Along with Kadono, Salcedo-Borrego was also named as a conference Player of the Week during the year.
"All seven of the players have had excellent seasons," said head coach
Kevin Grimes, in his 18th year at the helm. "We are really proud of what they've been able to accomplish competitively as individuals and as a team."

The 2017 league slate marked the Bears (11-6-0, 6-4-0 Pac-12) best finish since 2010, when they won the title and moved on to the NCAA tournament. Cal will advance to the post season for the 12th occasion under Grimes as it is set to host San Francisco on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. (PT) in Berkeley.
