Bears Force 3 Turnovers But Fall At Oregon

  • With the 17-7 loss, Cal falls to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the Pac-12. The Bears have a bye week next weekend before hosting Oregon State on Oct. 19 (Homecoming).
  • Cal has held 13 straight opponents under 25 points – the longest active streak in the country.
  • SAF Ashtyn Davis picked off his first past of the season and sixth of his career, returning it 31 yards, in the first quarter. It marked the first interception thrown by Oregon QB Justin Herbert this season.
  • QB Devon Modster, in his first start for Cal, finished 17-for-34 for 190 yards, a TD and two interceptions. He also rushed for 30 years, including a 21-yarder.
  • WR Jordan Duncan's 36-yard reception in the first quarter was a career long.
  • RB Christopher Brown's 22-yard TD catch in the first quarter was the longest of reception of his career. The touchdown was the first scored against Oregon since its opener vs. Auburn.
  • Cal forced a season-high 3 turnovers (interception and 2 fumbles).
  • The Bears led, 7-0, at the half – the first time they have shut out an opponent in the first half this season. It was also the first time Oregon had been shut out at home in the first half since 2004.
  • LB Kuony Deng and Lone Toailoa both recorded their first fumble recoveries. Deng tied his career high with 12 tackles (also vs. UC Davis).
  • LB Zeandae Johnson recorded his first quarterback of the season in the second quarter.
  • WR Trevon Clark, who made his first career start, finished with a career-best 6 catches for 69 yards.
