Collins, Roy, Oke Named to All-Pac-12 Second Team
BERKELEY – Three California women's soccer standouts –
Sydney Collins,
Keely Roy and
Ayo Oke – have been named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team for their excellent campaigns in the 2022 regular season. The three honorees led Cal to a 10-4-6 record in regular season play, earning the team its first top-four finish in the Pac-12 standings since 2015.

This is the second time Collins has earned all-conference honors after being named to the All-Pac-12 Third Team in 2021. The senior team captain and defensive powerhouse had another incredible season as a Golden Bear in 2022. She played and started in all 20 matches for a total of 1,790 minutes on the field, the second-most for any team member this season. Collins was recognized as Pac-12 Defender of the Week twice, consecutively, this fall on Sept. 12 and 19. Earlier this year, Collins was also a three-time starter for the U-23 side of the U.S. national team.
Â
Fellow senior Roy garnered all-conference recognition for the first time in her career thanks to her dominant season on Cal's offense in 2022. Roy leads the team in goals (11) – including three game-winners – and shots (62). She ranks third in the conference and 27th nationally for total goals. Roy scored twice in one match three different times this season, the first time in nearly three years that a Bear has logged a multi-goal game. She also tallied two assists and went 5-for-6 on penalty kick conversions this fall. Roy was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10 for her performance on the pitch.
Â
Oke's second career Pac-12 postseason honor follows her Pac-12 All-Freshman Team recognition last season. The sophomore continued her impressive collegiate campaign at Cal in 2022, locking in the team-leader position in assists with nine. She tops the conference and is 15th nationally for total assists and is 18th in the country for assists per game (0.50). Oke logged one goal this season versus Oregon State and ranks third on Cal's list for shots taken with her 24 attempts. Earlier this year, Oke earned the call-up to the U-20 side of the U.S. national team for the World Cup competition. She played in six matches and helped Team USA to their Cup title. Oke also represented the U.S. at the Sud Ladies Cup in Aubagne, France over the summer.
Â
Collins, Roy and Oke, along with the rest of Cal's roster, now turn their focus to the NCAA postseason tournament, the team's first appearance in the College Cup since 2019. The team faces Santa Clara in the first round on Saturday at 1p.m. at Stevens Stadium.
