QUICK HITS
- In the 86-65 win over Gonzaga on Thursday:
- Cal ended Gonzaga's 37-game home winning streak. The home loss marked just the fourth for the Zags since the 2018-19 season and the first since Feb. 5, 2022.
- Kayla Williams had her best game as a Bear by far, posting season highs of 25 points (9-of-12) and four triples (4-of-6) to go along with six assists and four steals. She is one of only four players in the country to have a game with at least 20 points, four 3-pointers, five assists and four steals. She is the only one in the group to have dished out six assists.
- The Bears forced the Zags (1-2) into a season-high 24 turnovers which led to 29 points.
- Ioanna Krimili and Marta Suárez had four and three steals respectively to add to Cal's season-high 15 takeaways.
- Krimili is currently the nation's leader in both career triples (351) and most career games with at least five made 3-pointers (24).
- Krimili and Twidale are off to a hot start from beyond the arc. They've connected on 14 each, which is tied for fourth in the nation; they are both shooting over 48% from downtown and 50% from the field.
- Cal is the only school in the country to have two players (Krimili and Twidale) rank in the top five nationally for 3-pointers made through the first two weeks of play. In fact, no school has two players in the top 60 in the country.
- Krimili is the nation's only member of the 50-40-90 club (min. 20 3PA, 10 FTA). She has only missed one free throw (13-of-14) this season.
- Williams has been incredibly efficient over her last two outings, shooting over 50% from the field (65.2) and from 3-point range (63.6).
- Natalia Ackerman has been incredibly productive off the bench. She is averaging 6.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in just 12.8 minutes per game. She is also 9-for-11 from the field so far this season.
- Onyiah is currently five blocks away from taking the fifth spot on Cal's all-time list. She would pass recent graduate ('22) Evelien Lutje Schipholt.
- Entering the third week of play, Cal has hit 44 triples, which are tied for sixth in the nation.
- The Bears have put up a combined 346 points through the first four games of the season, which is the third most in program history through the first four games of a campaign. They put up 347 over that span in both the 2012-13 and 1994-95 seasons.
- Cal has topped the 80-point mark in the first four games of the season for the first time since the 2012-13 season. The Bears have never topped 80 points for five straight games to open a season in program history.
