The California women's lacrosse team stayed in contention for a spot in the Pac-12 Tournament after a hard-fought 17-13 win over San Diego State (2-13, 1-5 Pac-12) in a key Pac-12 game Saturday on Senior Day at California Memorial Stadium. The victory moved the Bears into a four-way tie for fourth place in the Pac-12 standings with one game remaining in the regular season. The top three finishers among those four teams (Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, UC Davis) will make the six-team field at the Pac-12 Tournament to be played May 1-4 at United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Arizona State, Cal, Oregon and UC Davis can all clinch a spot in the Pac-12 Tournament with a win in their final regular-season games next week, while any of the four who lose their final regular-season game next week will have to advance to the tournament by winning a tiebreaker.
Oregon (8-5, 2-4 Pac-12) plays at No. 21 Colorado (10-4, 4-1 Pac-12) on Friday at 6 pm CDT/5 pm PDT on Pac-12 Mountain.
