The No. 22 California women's basketball team (17-3, 5-2 ACC) will look to sweep Stanford (10-8, 2-5 ACC) for the first time since the 1985-86 season when it faces the Cardinal at Maples Pavilion on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT. A win would also mark the Bears' first victory at Stanford since the 2014-15 season.

This game marks the 104th all-time meeting between the programs, with Stanford having an 81-22 series advantage. The Bears snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Cardinal with an 83-63 win earlier this season at Haas Pavilion. The margin of victory was the third highest for Cal in the series history and was highlighted by a program-record 18 3-pointers.

Stanford is led by first-year head coach Kate Paye, who took over for legendary coach Tara VanDerveer after 38 years at the helm. The Cardinal are led by Nunu Agara, who leads the team in scoring (17.4 points per game) and rebounding (8.2 rebounds per game).

Thursday's game will be streamed on ACCNX with Mary Murphy and Tim Swartz on the call and Naya Crittenden on the sideline.

Player Notes
  • Krimili is currently the nation's leader in both career triples (398) and most career games with at least five made 3-pointers (26). She ranks fourth in the NCAA in career points (2,408) among all active players.
  • Krimili needs just two 3-pointers to reach 400 for her career - a milestone only 16 other players in the history of college women's basketball have reached. If she maintains her pace of 3.3 triples per game, she can finish on the all-time top 10 list.
  • Krimili and Twidale make up the best 3-point shooting duo in the nation. Both are tied for sixth in the NCAA with 61 3-pointers each (through Jan. 19).
  • Krimili and Twidale are each three 3-pointers away from tying the program's all-time single season record (Jennifer Self - 64 during the 1991-92 season).
  • Twidale currently leads all sophomores in the nation in made 3-pointers and is 11 up on the next closest player.
  • Suárez is one of six players in the conference to rank in the top 20 in scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg) and top 15 in field goal percentage (50.6) during ACC play.
  • Suárez has scored at least 16 points in four of her last five games and shot 55.5% from the field and 66.7% from deep across those four contests. She is also averaging 8.8 rebounds over her last four games.
  • Kayla Williams has done an effective job facilitating and contributing to the team's offensive output this season. She is just one of two players in the nation shooting at least 50.0% from the field, 44.0% from deep and totaling at least 90 assists on the season. The other is Notre Dame's Olivia Miles.
  • Onyiah is setting career single-season highs across several categories this year: FG% (58.9), rebounding (7.3) and scoring (10.1).

Team Notes
  • At 17-3, Cal is off to its best start under Smith and since the 2012-13 season (17-2).
  • Cal is one of just nine schools in the country with five players averaging 10+ points per game.
  • The Bears are one of 21 teams in the country with at least two Quad 1 (NET) wins.
  • Cal is currently 7-2 against teams that played in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, with wins over No. 19 Alabama, No. 21 NC State, Florida State, Gonzaga, Auburn, Arizona and Stanford.
  • The Bears' 37.0 shooting percentage from deep this season currently ranks third in program history.
