KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'i – The California women's golf team culminates a busy fall season this week at the Nanea Invitational at Nanea Golf Club on the Big Island in Hawai'i.
The Golden Bears are coming off a memorable trip to Scotland, where they won the St. Andrews Links Collegiate – playing two rounds of stroke play on the Jubilee Course and defeating Princeton 4.5-1.5 in the match play championship on the Old Course. Junior
Constance Fouillet set the women's record on the Old Course, carding a spectacular 9-under 63 for the best round any woman has ever played in the 473-year history of the course.
The Nanea Invitational runs Monday-Wednesday, with 18 holes being played each day on the par-73, 6,449-yard course north of Kona.

COCO IS COOKING: Junior Constance "Coco" Fouillet forged a round she will never forget during the match play championship of the St. Andrews Links Collegiate earlier this month in Scotland. Fouillet set the women's course record with a 9-under par 63 on the St. Andrews Old Course – regarded as the oldest golf course in the world. She registered eight birdies and an eagle to lead Cal to the championship victory over Princeton.
WOO HOO!: Freshman
Michelle Woo has made an immediate impact in her short time in Berkeley so far. She leads the team with a 71.7 scoring average and has finished the past two stroke play events at par or better. Woo secured a runner-up finish at last month's Molly Collegiate Invitational at 1-under par and finished the stroke play portion of the St. Andrews Links Collegiate at even-par, which was good for a tie for seventh place individually.
MCDANIEL, HALBIG ENSHRINED: Former head coach Nancy McDaniel and two-time All-American Pia Halbig each took their rightful place in the Cal Athletics Hall of Fame last weekend at the bi-annual induction gala at the on-campus Pauley Ballroom. McDaniel founded the program in 1995 and served as head coach for 29 years before retiring after the 2023-24 season. Halbig still owns the program's lowest career scoring average (73.89) and led the Bears to four straight NCAA Regional berths.
THE NANEA FIELD: The Nanea Invitational will feature the strongest field the Bears have competed against this season, with five of the 11 participating teams ranked in the latest SCOREBOARD poll. No. 1 Stanford leads the way with No. 6 Auburn, No. 10 Texas, No. 17 UCLA and No. 21 Arizona State also competing.
