LA QUINTA – A career-best performance by senior Jieming Yang led the California women's golf team to a strong finish at the Yale Invitational, as the Golden Bears moved up three spots to place sixth with a 3-over-par 867 team score.

Cal shot a 7-under 281 on Tuesday, good for its second-lowest 18-hole score of the season and the third-best round-three score in the field. The Golden Bears have now finished in the top half of the standings in five of their last six tournaments.

Following a fantastic opening two rounds Monday, Yang (70+72+68 | 210) closed things out by carding her first sub-70 round as a Bear, enjoying a torrid stretch on the back nine where she put away six of her nine birdies on the day without a single bogey. Her 6-under for the tournament ranked sixth individually, good for the best finish of her career.

For the first time this season, four different Bears shot par or better in the same round. Sophomore Constance Fouillet (72+72+69 | 213) made six birdies in round three, carding a 3-under 69 to move into 10th place. It was the first time this season that she shot par or better in all three rounds.

Senior Kaylyn Noh (72+77+72 | 221) and freshman Marie-Agnes Fischer (81+71+72 | 224) both shot an even-72. Freshman Claudia Lara Miravitlles (80+77+73 | 230) had her best round of the competition at 1-over 73.

Cal has just two tournaments remaining before the ACC Championship (Apr. 16-19), starting with the PING/ASU Invitational on March 28-30.
