KEY THINGS TO KNOW
FIRST ACC HOME SERIES - Cal's three-game set against Virginia this Friday-Sunday is its first-ever ACC home series.

9-GAME ROAD TRIP NEXT - After hosting Virginia, Cal will go on a season-long nine-game road trip at Saint Mary's (March 18), Stanford (March 21-23), San Francisco (March 24) and Louisville (March 28-30) to make it 14 of 18 on the road.

FIRST ACC SERIES AT DUKE - Jarren Advincula singled on the first pitch ever thrown to Cal in an ACC game, while the Golden Bears homered five times and Austin Turkington struck out a career-high 10 in his first career complete game on March 7 to win at defending ACC champion Duke, 14-1. Alex Birge hit two of the five home runs, while Cade Campbell and Dominic Smaldino also homered. Cal dropped the final two games of the series, 6-2 and 7-3.

SCHEDULE CHANGES - Cal moved three games previously slated for Tuesdays to Mondays and now visits San Francisco (March 24), while hosting Pacific (April 7) and Saint Mary's (April 21).

NO LONG STREAKS - Cal has not either won or lost more than two in a row in 2025, winning two straight over Nevada (Feb. 14-15) to open the season before dropping two straight to Houston (Feb. 22-23) and Santa Clara (Feb. 28-Mar. 1), as well as at Duke (Mar. 8-9).

NEXT FOUR SERIES VS. TOP 25 - Cal's next four series (Virginia, at Stanford, at Louisville, Clemson) come against ACC teams currently ranked in the top 25 of at least one national college baseball poll.

HITTING THE LONG BALL - Cal's 24 home runs rank tied for third in the ACC and tied for 28th nationally. The Bears have hit over half (13) in two games with a school-record-tying eight on Mar. 2 at Santa Clara and five Mar. 7 at Duke.

CAMPBELL'S HOT START - 3B Cade Campbell leads Cal in nearly every offensive category including batting average (.400), HR (6) and RBI (22).

PRODUCTIVE IN FRONT OF DISH - Cal catchers Alex Birge (5) and Ryan Tayman (2) have combined to hit seven home runs and the Bears have had both in the lineup seven times with the two combining to make 23 starts over Cal's 16 games. Tayman made his debut in left field Tuesday against Utah and hit a tape-measure homer.

GETTING ON BASE SAFELY - Jarren Advincula has reached base in 15 of 16 games this season, including a current streak of 11 in a row to equal Dominic Smaldino's 11-game streak to begin the season as the team's longest.
