The best part about being on Cal crew is: We race all the time. Some people find it hard to understand how we can put in so many hours of practice yet only get a few races. The truth is that on our team we race on the water, we race on the erg and we have fun doing so the whole year.
The best part of the University is: The education and degree that you receive. The opportunity to walk out with a degree from Berkeley makes the academic part of my life very special.
My greatest achievement was: About a week before nationals, doing everything I could to make technical changes on the water, because my seat in the boat was in jeopardy.
I chose Cal because: It is a great place to row year round. The team was friendly and worked harder than any other team I visited. I liked Dave's attitude and thought that this school would also be a great academic fit.
What sets Cal apart: Is that we push each other. One rower will get better so to achieve your personal goal you have to set up and do more. While we compete with each other we still pat each other on the back because in the end it's not about you but about the team as a whole.
