Nicodemus Christopher is in his third season as the Head Men's Basketball Strength & Conditioning Coach for the California men's basketball program.

Christopher, a native of San Diego, Calif., joined the Golden Bears program prior to the 2014-15 season after serving the same role on Martin’s staff for two seasons at Tennessee. He oversees all strength and conditioning efforts related to the men's basketball program, including individually-designed high performance training, treatment and nutritional needs.

Prior to his tenure with men’s basketball program at Tennessee, Christopher served as a speed and conditioning coordinator for the men’s basketball program and oversaw the sports performance program for the softball and track and field programs at Purdue during the 2011-12 academic year.

Christopher has also served as a sports performance coach with the Michael Johnson Performance Center in Dallas, Tex., and Accelerate Performance Enhancement Center in Tyler, Tex. He has coached several professional athletes, including members of both the NHL’s Dallas Stars and MLS’ FC Dallas franchises.

Christopher has years of experience as a NSCA certified Strength & Conditioning specialist (CSCS) and Level I USA Weightlifting coach. 

Christopher also served an internship as a strength and conditioning coach at Stanford in 2010.

A 2007 graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in health and human performance, Christopher continued his education at the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned a masters degree in 2010 in kinesiology with an emphasis on biomechanics and anatomical kinesiology. During his time as an undergraduate at Baylor, Christopher sat on the executive boards of both the African Student Association and the Association of Black Students.

In July of 2014, Christopher married the former Fallon Smith, Anchor/Reporter for CSN Bay Area.Â
