BERKELEYÂ - Cal women's soccer head coach
Neil McGuire and the Golden Bears are excited to announce an additional six players who will join the Golden Bears for the 2018 season. Elle Lindenlaub (Westlake Village, Calif.), Devin Lozano (Danville, Calif.), Molly Neach (Danville, Calif.), Ashley Sapon (Calabasas, Calif.), Renee Thomas (Laguna Beach, Calif.), and Amanda Zodikoff (Concord, Calif.) will be heading to Berkeley in the coming weeks, rounding out Cal's incoming freshman class. The Golden Bears signed Abena Aidoo (Modesto, Calif.), Sydney Collins (Beaverton, Ore.), Paige Metayer (Irvine, Calif.), and Emma Treasure (Portland, Ore.) to
National Letters of intent in February.
Cal's 10-member freshman class brings energy and a wealth of success at both the club and high school levels.
"We are excited to welcome another impressive group of women to our program," said head coach
Neil McGuire. "Our goal with this class was to add athleticism and soccer intelligence on each of the lines of the team and we feel good about the players joining us. From a soccer perspective, they are a talented group, but also bring a high academic and moral pedigree"
Cal's incoming class joins a Golden Bears side that went 13-6-1 in 2017 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 14
th consecutive season. The Bears return both leading scorers in forwards
Miranda Nild and
Abi Kim, as well as a pair of Pac-12 All-Freshman selections in
Emily Smith and
