California Athletics Hall of Fame
The founding head coach of Cal field hockey, Donna Fong built the program from the ground up starting in 1976, compiling a 147-126-31 record over 19 seasons. She closed out her career on a high note, leading Cal to three consecutive conference titles in her final three seasons and earning NorPac Coach of the Year each time. Over the course of her tenure, Fong coached seven All-Americans, and her players earned all-conference honors 52 times. Her legacy at Cal was permanently honored in 2020 when the head field hockey coaching position was endowed in her name, becoming the first endowed head coaching position for a Cal women's sport.
