Cal's first-ever men's golfer to play in the Masters, Michael Weaver earned that invitation after finishing runner-up at the 2012 U.S. Amateur, then also played in the U.S. Open, Palmer Cup and Walker Cup that same year — becoming just the second golfer in history to compete in all four events in a single calendar year. A first-team All-American and All-America Scholar in 2012-13, he became Cal's first-ever NCAA Regional champion by sharing medalist honors at the 2013 NCAA Pullman Regional. A Fresno native and Clovis West High School graduate, Weaver was a two-time team captain who posted 12 top-five finishes over his Cal career while working toward his degree from the Haas School of Business. He turned professional in 2014 and went on to compete on multiple professional tours.
