California Athletics Hall of Fame
A native of Maintal, Germany, Pia Halbig capped her Cal career as a senior in 2010-11 by winning the Dinah Shore Trophy, one of the LPGA's highest collegiate honors recognizing excellence in academics, athletics and leadership. She earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors and All-Region recognition that season while also being named the Toyo Tires Pac-10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a first-team Pac-10 All-Academic honoree. Halbig set the Cal record for career scoring average (73.89), a mark that still stands, and also holds the program's senior-season scoring average record (73.27). She opened her senior campaign with six consecutive sub-par rounds and earned honorable-mention NGCA All-American recognition to close out one of the most accomplished academic-athletic careers in program history.
