No. 4 Bears Win First Match of NorCal Tournament, Drop UCSB 13-5

Berkeley, Calif. - The Cal Bears scored early and scored often in their match vs. UC Santa Barbara. Cal rode another strong performance from junior driver Attila Banhidy, as he notched 3 more goals to add to his team-leading total of 19 for the year. The Bears went into the break with the commanding 7-2 lead and never looked back. The second half saw Keola Richardson, Sean Vienna and Alexander Niehenke score their first goals of the year for the Golden Bears. Cal's solid defensive performance held the Gauchos to just five goals on the day, only 3 in the second half. Junior netminder Tim Kates tallied eight saves in a strong showing between the pipes.
