Palo Alto, CA - A motivated West Point kicked off the consolation final and four minutes later converted a penalty kick for a 3-0 lead. Five minutes later the Golden Bears struck back with a try of their own, which was the first of five tries in the opening period to take a 29-3 halftime lead.

With West Point Brigadier General Leo A. Brooks, Jr. Commandant cheering the Army team on from the touchline, Cal ran in eight second half tries defeating the Cadets 75-3.

"Obviously our boys were a bit gutted today and the match could have gone to hell in a hurry, but the resilience of our boys never ceases to amaze me. There is a lot of support and capacity around these academy sides, to be successful against them, we need to be at our very best, and I believe we achieved that today under difficult circumstances," said head coach Jack Clark.
