BERKELEY, CA - Ten different players scored for the Golden Bears as the No. 4-ranked California men's water polo team (15-7) defeated No. 13-ranked UC Davis, 12-3, in a non-conference match Saturday at Spieker Aquatics Complex. Cal was paced by sophomores Marty Matthies and Andrija Vasiljevic with two goals apiece. Junior goalie Nate Bennett registered eight saves. It was the fourth time this season the Bears have defeated the Aggies.

Cal jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Matthies and freshmen Mike Hayes and Adam Haley. Sophomore Brian Kinsel gave the Bears a 4-0 lead with 6:23 left in the second period, before Michael Long got UC Davis on the board with a goal at 6:00 left the second quarter. Matthies scored again with 5:25 in the second to give Cal a 5-1 lead. The Aggies made their best run of the day by scoring the next two goals on shots by Adam Lindsay (4:06) and David Welch to get within 5-3 with 2:50 left in the half.
