CALIFORNIA HEAD COACH Diane Ninemire
General comment:
"I just thought that was a real dogfight between us and LSU. I expected that kind of game. When we lost the first game, I just tried to keep my players up and tell them, 'pull together, stay positive and take the game into their own control.' Kelly Anderson came in and threw a wonderful game. Vicky Galindo got our team started, and Alex Sutton was three-for-four tonight and came through with some key RBIs for us."
On the success of the program:
"We set our goals to win a national championship and to get through the World Series, and to have that opportunity tomorrow night to win that championship means everything to that program right now. Anything less than that is not acceptable. We're geared up to be here, we have a mission, and that's exactly what we want. We're going to come out tomorrow night and leave nothing on the field and have no regrets."
CALIFORNIA JUNIOR Kelly Anderson
On getting the start:
"It pretty much didn't feel like a start, since I pitched from the second inning on in the first game. It didn't really feel like a start. I did whatever I could do for my team. Kristina (Thorson) did a great job in regionals and the beginning of this week. That's the advantage of having two pitchers."
