Ben Braun Postgame Quotes
Dec. 19, 2006
Recap |
Box Score
On Furman:
"When it's all said and done, we can talk about what Furman didn't do. We had to defend because they shoot the three. If you relax on defense, they shoot the three. They are used to getting people on the back door for three-point shots."
On Ayinde Ubaka, who had a career-high 11 assists:
"Ayinde made everybody on our team better. Eleven assists and zero turnovers is great, you don't see many people around the country doing that. The last outing hurt Ayinde emotionally; he came back this game and showed he is one of the better players around."
On Ryan Anderson:
"We came back the second half without DeVon, and Ryan Anderson did great. Ryan is still learning. As he gets experience he will get better and better. Ryan carried us the second half. He had some key three-pointers. He doesn't mind taking free throws and he has no aversion to driving inside."
On the team's 22 assists:
"Our guys can make plays when they set each other up. Twenty-two assists is a great number. Jerome Randle had seven assists, he made some great plays. Randle and Ayinde combined for 18 assists and two turnovers; we will win a lot of games if they keep that up."
On final exams, which ended earlier Tuesday:
"There are a whole lot of teams coming out of finals not doing well. We had a tough stretch before finals and maybe that was a scheduling mistake."
On the upcoming schedule:
"Our schedule coming up is pretty tough, I can't think of four tougher games. We have had a tough schedule, and it has toughened our team up. DePaul can make some good shots and beat you up the middle. They are a pretty tough team, they beat Kansas pretty good."
