California Head Coach Ben Braun
"We did a great job on Jordan Farmar. It must have been his toughest game of the year. You've got give Richard Midgley credit for a great job on Farmar tonight."
"I think Leon Powe passed it out and moved it around well tonight. But we didn't hit our shots in the second half. That's why you rely on defense, because your offense isn't always going to be there all the time. We played great defense in the last minutes of the second half to get to overtime."
"Give Theo Robertson credit for knocking down the biggest shot of his career."
"I told the team that they can't feel sorry for themselves. We have to go out and play hard again. Our guys fought and they wouldn't have been in this position if they hadn't been fighting all year."
"We've got a lot on the line Saturday. Our seniors deserve to go out with a win on their last night on their home floor. They've done so much for this team and this program; they deserve to go out with a win at home."
UCLA Head Coach Ben Howland
"That was a great gut-check win for our team, our program. To be down 11 at halftime and come out and play so well to start the second half - we have to stop doing that. We beat an NCAA Tournament team. They are very good and could go very far in the NCAA Tournament. We may see them again at Staples Center."
"Leon Powe is an unbelievable player. We really struggled to score in the first half. We were way too much dribbling, we were amped up, trying to go one-on-one too much. We settled down in the second half and had some huge performances."
"Jordan (Farmar) was masterful down the stretch at handling the ball and really doing a good job for us. Darren Collison played his best defense of the year for us and really made a big impact in that game early in the second half. For Luc Richard (Mbah a Moute) to be matched up most of the game with Leon Powe and hold him to 20 points and three rebounds and with the team defense, that guy is just incredible, a great player. Arron Afflalo did a great job defensively on (Ayinde) Ubaka. It's a big win for us."
"We are happy, but we want to win our next game."
"With the last play of regulation, we didn't have any timeouts left and I am trying to be judicious, but also use my timeouts to the best of my ability. After all that and then to go into overtime on a great shot by (Theo) Robertson is just a testament to these kid's character."
