BERKELEY - The California women's tennis team participates in the All-American Championship this week in Los Angeles. Senior Susie Babos awaits her opportunity to repeat as tournament champion later this week in the main draw. For now, Babos will advance in the doubles qualifier with partner senior Stephanie Kusano.
In singles qualifying, Kusano was eliminated today by USC's Gabriela Niculescu in three sets (2-6, 6-4, 2-6). Senior Cristina Visico retired after one game into the second set, experiencing shoulder pains. Her match was never completed. (1-6, 0-1 ret.)
