*Both Patrick Christopher (24) and Ryan Anderson (27) tied their career scoring highs. Christopher also had 24 points vs. Oregon State at home last season, while Anderson scored 27 points against OSU in last year's Pac-10 Tournament.
*DeVon Hardin matched his career high with 14 rebounds. He also grabbed 14 boards in the opener last Wednesday vs. Southern Miss and had 14 against Northeastern last season.
*Sophomore walk-on guard David Liss earned the first start of his career, subbing for an injured Eric Vierneisel (ankle). He responded with eight points (the first points of his career) and four assists in 37 minutes. As a freshman in 2006-07, Liss saw action in 12 games for a total of 18 minutes.
*Cal committed 21 turnovers, more than in any game last season. Fourteen came in the first half.
*Cal did not score a field goal the last 11:20 of the first half, scoring its final 14 points of the period from the free throw line.
*With two blocks, DeVon Hardin now has 101 for his career -- fourth best in school history.
*Senior forward Eric Vierneisel did not play due to a sprained right ankle suffered in practice over the weekend. Head coach Ben Braun said he is questionable to Saturday's game vs. San Diego State.
*Cal used only six scholarship players during the game.
