BERKELEY - Jamal Boykin had a career day, posting a personal-best 19 points and 12 rebounds. Boykin's performance also produced the Bears' first double-double of the season.

Jerome Randle was named the MVP of the Golden Bear Classic, and is the first two-time winner of the award. Randle finished with 16 points against Portland, including going 3-for-5 from the three-point line and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Besides Randle, also named to the all-tournament team were Boykin and Theo Robertson from Cal, Luke Sikma and T.J. Campbell from Portland and Anwar Johnson from Air Force.

In beating Portland and winning its 11th Golden Bear Classic title in 16 years, Cal recorded its 11th win in 13 games to start the season. The Bears remained a perfect 9-0 at home and when leading at the half this year. They have now won 31 of their last 34 nonconference home games.

Robertson matched Randle with 16 points on the night. He was 3-for-4 from behind the arc and improved his season average to 61.5. Robertson also collected three assists and three rebounds.

Patrick Christopher was the fourth Cal player to hit double figures in scoring against the Pilots. Christopher finished with 13 points, and also added three assists and two rebounds.

Cal earned 20 points off of turnovers to Portland's 11.
