With its 68-66 win, Cal improved to 11-4 all-time in NIT games. Under head coach Ben Braun, the Bears are 9-2 in three appearances.
The 66 points allowed by Cal was the lowest total by an opponent since the Bears defeated Washington State, 69-64, on Jan. 31.
Eric Vierneisel dished out a career-high 8 assists.
Ryan Anderson finished with 26 points, the 10th time this season he has scored at least 25 in a game.
Tonight was senior DeVon Hardin's 100th career game. He finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds, a block and a steal in 23 minutes.
With his 26 points, Anderson moved into 16th on Cal's career scoring list with 1,225 points, passing Doug True, who had 1,215 points from 1977-80. Next up is Brian Wethers, who finished with 1,239 points from 2000-03.
Anderson also made a pair of three-pointers to give him 63 on the year, the third-highest total in school history. Only Ryan Drew (68 in 1990) and Bill Elleby (64 in 1992) had more.
Cal improved to 9-1 on the year when holding teams to less than 70 points.
