BERKELEY - For the second time this season, Jerome Randle tied his career high with 26 points. He also set a new personal best in assists (10), producing his first career double-double and Cal's second this season. It was his eighth 20-point performance this season. Randle was also a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line and four-for-seven from the three-point line. In addition, Randle also snagged five rebounds, second most among the Bears on Sunday.

Also turning in an impressive outing was Patrick Christopher, collecting 20 points, three rebounds and three assists. It was Christopher's second straight 20-point showing, as he also scored 23 against Arizona last Friday.

The 81-71 victory over No. 17 Arizona State was Cal's first win over a top-25 team since the Bears knocked off then-No. 22 USC in the Pac-10 opener last season, 92-82, on Jan. 3, 2008.

Cal remained a perfect 11-0 at home this season. Cal also increased its winning streak to seven games and is 8-1 since Dec. 1. Mike Montgomery now boasts a career record of 26-11 against Arizona State.

Harper Kamp led the Bears on the boards for the second time this season, securing six off the glass. He also added six points and two blocks.

Entering the game at No. 1 in the nation in three-point percentage as a team, Cal swished nine of their 17 attempts from behind the arc. Theo Robertson, currently No. 2 in the nation in three-point percentage (min 1.5 made per game), went 2-for-3 from three-point range.
